Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. The couple was moved to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five and enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma decided to be an actor at age six. Over the course of several years, she attended the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing, dancing and acting. At the age of ten, she took part and performed the main role in numerous Stagecoach School plays and productions. Casting began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was found by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were cast as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's debut on the big screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that was released in the year 2001. The film broke records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings as well as being the most-grossing feature of 2001. The film has been praised by critics for its film, as well as the performance of the three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her performance. Emma's performance was recognized and was awarded five awards for the film.
